Yes, that's a weak pun. I replaced my old plugs with NGK BPR6FS plugs and seen a significant improvement in my 1983 Crusader 454/350's. At cruising rpms I have gained 15% fuel economy. I used to use two gallons per mile, now it's 1.7 gallons per mile. That doesn't sound like much but every bit helps.
Think how much money has been made selling golfers gadgets to "shave" strokes off their game! I've also noted that both engines now use the same amount of fuel at the same rpm (the lower amount between the two).
