The Rosebud

In February of 2008, we purchased our first Yacht. It was a 1984
Uniflite 48' CPMY, or at least, that was how it was registered. From
studying this website, I determined that in actuality, it is a 48' YF
with the sundeck enclosed and a Hydraulic Bimini installed on the
flybridge enclosed with eisenglass. It hosts 2 6-71s advertised at 410
bhp each. They are turboed with # 95 injectors. It seems a little
faster than the model listed at this site. I saw 25 knots at 2450 rpms
wide open and trimmed. Cruise seemed comfortable about 16 knots at
1700 rpms. Amongst many questions I have, my main question is the
belly tank. How do you put fuel in it? The only openings I have found
are in the rear stateroom and my wife would have a fit if I got diesel
in there. I have really come to love this boat. I've seen newer yachts
that host a lot of glitz and shiney shineys but I have not found any
in this size as functional. We are live-aboarders. Our mail is
delivered to a box at our marina (Marina del Sol, Kemah, TX). My hat
is off to all the smart people that settled on their boat of choice
being a Uniflite.I even had a fellow which owned a 55' Jefferson say
that he liked our cockpit model better. It don't get no better than
that. Check the Files section for pictures of the Rosebud, our home
sweet boat.
