Hello, My Wife and I just bought a very nice 1972 23' Salty Pup. I have always had diesel boats so I am hoping to get some what may seem like some pretty basic things figured out. The boat has a 260 hp Chrylser Marine with a few hundred hours. One question is what would be a good opperating range for this engine idle, cruse, and high cruse range. Another is what range should the oil pressure and engine temp be in to protect the engine. The previous owner knew little about boats, and had all his wrork done. He never crused the boat more than 8 kt. 1200 RPM. I had the boat out today and ran at 3000 RPM for 1/2 hour. the oil pressure remained steady and the engine temp never rose over 165. Any advice would be great Thanks Steve
