Jim, I buy a lot of my electrical supplies from Defender Industries (www.defender.com). They don't have a selection as big as West Marine, but the prices are usually lower. I am in California and do not have to pay sales tax when dealing with Defender. I do however pay shipping, but the total is usually less than if I went to West Marine. I have also scored some excellent deals on components such as terminal strips, panels, relays, etc. and electronics, from Peter Kennedy Yacht Services (www.pkys.com). DavidO

I want to make sure I get good marine wire, however, I'm working on a budget and need to shop wisely. Does anyone have recommendations on a vendor that sells quality marine wire and panels at reasonable prices? I know I can get quality from West Marine but they are much more expensive than other vendors with the same products.
