I talked with an engineer for Side Power once when we were working a trade show together. I said I hated the noise bow thrusters make. It's especially annoying waiting for the locks to open and having some idiot keep using his new toy instead of an occasional bump of the engines.
Anyway, this engineer - who was Norwegian and you know the Norwegians never lie - said the noise problem is due to the shape of the tube's design, the fairing of it with the hull. He explained proper sculpting can eliminate most of the noise caused by turbulence. However, he said this requires more work, hence higher installation costs so most people take what they get. That all I know about it.. On May 26, 8:29 am, David Oates <[email protected]> wrote: > Thanks Bob, I'll store this info away with my research.
