I knew that Puget Sound was OK to use a Type I or Type II (treated,
through-hull discharge). What your links don't show is that under
different regulations, inland lakes are entirely no-discharge zones.
For those cruising in the Pacific Northwest, this means that once
you're inside the Ballard Locks, nothing goes overboard. Period. And
there are lots of police boats only too happy to give you a ticket.
The Mercer Island cops are notorious, and they're all over the lake.
