Hi Maureen,
This is how it was done on my boat
Step 1. Apply Zinc Chromate # S9001
Step 2. Apply Anti Corrosive Primer # 545
Step 3. Apply AwlGrip top coat to match boat color
It has held up very well and its more than two years now.
