Yes you are and a head service. Change the valve springs, valves, valve seats and guides as this will cause grief if the head is not serviced properly. Also change the injector tubes as the o-rings under the injector tubes get hard a like to leak coolant which Detroits do not like in the base. If you can afford to have the head serviced as I have suggested you will have very little problems in the future. Have a look at the pistons and liners as well and make a decision if they need replacing. It is hard to tell someone to spend their hard earned dollars but once the head is off it doesn't hurt to look further. How many hours and how old is the engine. I am only giving you what I think should be done to avoid any issues you might have later. Having overhauled around about 30 of these engines you understand them and know their weak points. Just some old fashioned advice.
