OK ... an update ... on the alarm wiring diagram (directly above), I do see
my target wire colours at the ENGINE MONITORING UNITS section, PINS side of
connector 9B1 through 7 (except that my physical observation is of the
*SOCKET* side):

9B1 & 4 are White / Tan
9B2 & 5 are White / Light Blue
9B3 & 6 are Yellow / Violet (the primary Yellow colour is very faded and I
was initially fooled into thinking it was off-white)
9B7 is White

... the 9-position connector halves I'm physically looking at having
matching wire colours, both sides ... I am not seeing the colours I should
be seeing per the diagram's SOCKET side:

9B1 should be Red
9B2 should be Blue
9B3 should be Orange
9B4 should be Green
9B5 should be Yellow
9B6 should be Brown
9B7 should (still) be White (as it physically is)

 ... so ... I think this connector is definitely alarm-related ... perhaps
it came apart w/o me noticing (doubtful, as the connector locking lugs seem
to be intact ... the connector halves would have had to have been not fully
mated for this to happen) as I opened the Lower Helm console ... on one of
only 3 occasions so far ... and ... perhaps this connection simply extends
functionality to the Fly Bridge ... of which 4 out of 7 indicator lights
were and still are comng on with the DC Panel ALARM switch turned On.

I think I'll plug it back together now that I (sort of) know what it's for
... and see what happens ... *Kevin Mc*
