I disagree.  It may not prevent you from removing a branch that hosts a
currently executing file, but it still prevents you from removing a
branch that has a regularly opened file (which is going to be more
common).

Even if you can remove the branch that shouldn't be too much of a
problem, because the the mmaping is actually established between the
lower-level file system and the process.  So removing the branch
shouldn't really have much of an effect.
