Thanks for quick reply. Unfortunately in this case logrotate is not an option.
Is it possible to update the snapshot not each night but when cache is full?


But I would like to recycle the idea in another computer. This time with 
smaller files. Is it possible to force unionfs to put in flash disk not only 
files written but also files read? Like  cache fs (unionfs is not vaporware)?

I know it is improbable, but I ask anyway!
