Suggested apps and recently used should be divided. Whomever coded it like that clearly wasn't thinking long term and now is not compatible with smart scopes and the home lens. Apps are the main selling point of any OS, so they should always be prioritized. The "smart scopes" was suppose to threat online results as if they were local, so App results should be there. the scopes were suppose to help a new consumer, not confuse them even more. I hope the same mistake doesn't get done into Unity 8. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Unity API bugs, which is subscribed to unity-scope-home in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1196051 Title: smart-scopes: Software center results do not show up in the home-scope Status in Unity Home Scope: Won't Fix Status in “unity-scope-home” package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Bug description: No useful (or smart) search results returned for apps not currently installed, i.e. Steam, Gimp, etc. to the Home-Scope. However, the apps-scope already has this implemented. Fix needed: Add useful software center results also to the home-scope as per the goal to make the dash searches smart. ----------- original report: clean install of saucy, searched for chromium, banshee, etc. on either of these a Info icon for wikipedia is shown or chromium bookmarks was shown but not the application itself.
