This is not caused by anything music-app is doing or even the media
playback stack. I need to find the bug report already filed for this at
the appropriate level. Thanks for reporting this bug though.

  Playback is paused briefly when switching airplane mode or
  enable/disable WiFi

Bug description:
  The playback of music (stored on the phone, playing in the background) is 
paused briefly 
  when toggling the airplane mode or when toggling WiFi in the System settings.
  However, toggling Bluetooth does not affect the music playback.

  There should be no music playback pauses when toggling networking
  settings (Airplane mode, enable/disable WiFi).
