Hey, all! I just contacted the nautilus mailing list to know if the gear icon in nautilus: http://i.stack.imgur.com/CCiPI.png has been removed from Ubuntu 14.04. This gear icon was present in the 13.10 Saucy Salamander release but is missing from the nautilus shipped with Trusty release.
I came to know that GNOME still has the gear icon in nautilus and that unity has removed that to be consistent and has all the option in the header menu bars. However, I would like to have that feature back and get the gear icon in my nautilus. Is that possible without having to install gnome-shell and using gnome desktop? I am fine changing configuration files and may be even recompiling, unless that is the last option. Please let me how to get the gear icon back in unity.
