For those who are interested, who think a powerful stand to stop terrorism may not be well served by bombing Afganistan and abridging civil liberties:
October 27th Rally and March to Say No to War and Racism; No to Anti-Arab & Anti-Muslim Violence; and a very strong NO to Washington's undermining our civil liberties through their Anti-Terrorism "PATRIOT" bill passed yesterday by Congress. We are also demonstrating our respect and commemoration for all those who died on September 11th and the postal workers who have died from Anthrax inhalation, by saying loud and clear: Our grief is not a cry for war! Rally starts at 12 noon at JFK (LOVE) Plaza at 15th & JFK Blvd. It will be followed by a march that will end at Market & 5th Streets. We need to ask how bombing Afghan people can be seen as a "fight for freedom" when Congress is attacking the Constitution here at home. We need to say that being for killing innocent civilians abroad does not make one more patriotic, or that being against war and racism makes one less so.
