Cheap Art Auction!
Trash? Treasure!
Friday December 7, 7:30 PM
A-Space, 4722 Baltimore Avenue

Do you want to support radical community space and independent media in Philadelphia? Do you love art, and want some of it cheap?
As you may have heard, a coalition of community groups, including the Derailleur Collective, the Defenestrator, and the Philadelphia Independent Media Center, have just gathered their energies together to purchase a community space at 4134 Lancaster Avenue. Our versatile, slightly run-down building will house the  varied and wonderful projects of these groups and their subsets, and to provide space for nascent ones as they come Philly's way.
Here's where the art comes in. We now need to raise the money to buy the space--and we're holding an auction to help us do it.
Do you have holiday presents to buy--but don't want to support [insert evil corporate entity]'s conquest of the universe?Do you need something beautiful on your walls, but don't have hundreds to spend in a gallery? Come to the auction--where any number of beautiful things can be yours for pennies on your Old City dollar.
There will be a traditional live auction, various silent auction items, all kinds of entertainment, as well as food and drink. We want everyone to have fun while supporting the new space! To check out our online auction catalog, visit http://phillyimc.org/space/cheapart
We're also looking for donated art! Do you have nearly-finished crafts, almost-perfect paintings, half-baked ceramics, or really smudged drawings? Send them along! They could help make someone's holiday, and help give independent media a permanent home in Philadelphia.
