see, it keeps getting funnier. I mean, that you would describe 
someone who opts out of a discussion about the community as a 
"sincere community-involved neighbor." especially when such a 
neighbor -- who is an active member of the two organizations that 
much of the discussion is about -- is in such a terrific position to 
help build bridges and create common ground. ok maybe all this isn't 
so funny after all.

still, you have to admit, there's an absurdity in the logic of anyone 
who, thinking that a listserv is being 'taken over,' uses that as a 
reason not to participate.
