Once again, misinformation is being used to "inflame the masses". The
tactic is repeated so often as to have become humorous, and discredits any
real arguments you may have against the HD designation.

 As you know, Holly, paint color is absolutely NOT controlled by historic
district status. If you don't know that, then you should do your homework.
However, this fact has been presented repeatedly, ad nauseum.  The
information is "conveniently" ignored by the anti-HD side because...
well... it's useful to ignore it. 

 And where ever did you get the idea that "historic colors" are all "shades
of yellow and brown" with dull paint jobs, anyway?  Do you have information
that nobody else has?  In  fact, if you see alot of dull shades of yellow
and brown, these houses are most likely owned by the many absentee
landlords or large property-owning companies that rent to students.  It's
easier and more cost-effective to paint everything the same color on a
massive scale. 

Come to think of it, you make a good point... maybe historic district
status SHOULD control paint colors so that we are not subjected to the
massive sameness that is currently imposed upon us by these outside forces.
