I heard this on the news. It seems really great, so I thought I'd pass it
along:
For two weekends, many artists' homes/studios will be open for free,
self-guided tours throughout Phila. neighborhoods (including U.C.) 11 AM
to 6 PM. This is only its second year (and I never heard about it before).
Philadelphia Open Studios Tours (POST)
Oct 12-13 (artists west of Broad St.) {that's us}
Oct 19-20 (artists east of Broad St.)
For detailed info, go to the website: Philaopenstudios.com
The site contains participating artists, addresses, maps, etc.
For info, call 215-683-2084 (City Rep's Office of Arts & Culture, primary
sponsor)
Also, free printed tour guides should be available at the UC Arts League.
Several UC artists will have their studios open, and I highly recommend
that you go see Walter Edmonds' studio/house (1120 S. 46th) -- because you
will be amazed.
