I spoke to a staff person at the BRT in September and learned that--in her
area anyway--many of the notices of tax increase that were mailed in late
summer were in error. I did not appeal because she was able to tell the
correct assessment amount by phone, which was confirmed by the revised
notice I got in the mail on Tuesday. Funny none of this ever hit the press
months ago.

Oddly, I just got a revised tax assessment on three of my four houses
at 44th and Pine indicating that the 2003 assessment has been dropped
to the 2002 levels. (I had not appealed.)
