When I bought my current house, there was quite a bit of difficulty w/ the seller, and Urban&Bye (specifically Melani) made my life a LOT easier and saved me from a heck of a lot of hassle. I can't imagine buying or selling a home without someone like her at my side.
My guess is that Ms. Wang would agree that a real estate agent offers many benefits over a FSBO. But for many people, the benefit of a FSBO (ie. saving several thousand dollars) is a more important consideration. It's really that simple. As far as Ms. Wang's actual posting to the list, she doesn't have the benefit of a well-publicized real estate agency and her name and phone # posted on well-placed signs all over Univ. City. There's no www.FenghuaWangRealty.com (as far as I know), so postings like hers are the only way I'd find out about a FSBO. And as others have pointed out, people advertise goods and services on this list all the time. So what's the difference? I always have friends looking to buy in the area, and I'm glad to have announcements of new homes for sale so that I can point those friends in the right direction. I think it's a *service* to our community to make postings like hers. dave > Dear Gerado and list, > > I recognizing that I speak with some personal interest, my income is from > Real Estate Commissions. > But, I sincerely believe that Buying or Selling a home is something best > done with the help of professionals and more specifically Realtors. -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://pobox.upenn.edu/~davidtoc ---- You are receiving this because you are subscribed to the list named "UnivCity."
