Friends, West Philadelphians, Gardeners, Tree Tenders, and Other Clark Parkistas,

We're having two work days in Clark Park this weekend and these may be the first sunny work days we've had this year. We're adding a work day on Sunday for those who've let me know they'd love to work in the park but couldn't work on Saturdays.

There will be the usual assortment of things to do, from mulching trees, to maintenance, to physical surveys, to cleaning, to chatting and having coffee with me and letting me know what all you'd like to see happening in the park.

I'd also like to remind folks of the StoryTimes each Thursday in June for children ages seven and under. Last Thursday, JoAnne Donahue read some shaggy dog stories by the Dickens statue and the rain held off until she was done. Cindy Roberts made "dog bone" cookies and I understand about fifteen wee ones brought their parents. Please be sure to come tonight to StoryTime at 7:00 PM at the Dickens statue (Green Line Cafe Rain Location). Tonight's reader will be Rose Rouse from Parent Infant Center who'll be reading some of her favorites.

Also the latest newsletter is online at http://www.clarkpark.info and includes information on the new Tot Lot, which will have it's gala opening on June 19 at 11:30 AM. Please come by if you can.

But wait, there's more this month ...

On June 21 from noon to 8:00 PM there's the Clark Park Music and Arts Festival. For more information, go to the Clark Park Music and Arts Festival website at http://www.clarkpark.org.

On June 28, the film "Safety First", a 1922 comedy starring Harold Lloyd and some selected shorts will be shown at 8:30 by the Shed in Clark Park, courtesy of Jim Keitzman and organized by Ann Dixon

For a list of events in Clark Park, please go to the Friends of Clark Park calendar at http://www.clarkpark.info/page6.html

I hope to see you all in the park,

Andy
