Amen. We replaced Ivy with grass because 1) garbage was hiding in the Ivy,
2) I didn't want my then-new-born baby to be playing with said garbage, 3) he
loves playing in the grass (so does our dog, and hey, so do I), and 4) the
grass is soothing to lie in.

When I'm in a hurry I weed-whack the grass (I know, boo, hiss); whenever I
have more time and it hasn't rained in a few days, I use our push-mower (old
style, sharpen it myself, good exercise). My wife is starting up a flower
garden in front of our grass lawn (on other side of fence, safe from baby's
clutches). Best of both worlds!
