Subject:        NEW CLASSICAL MUSIC STATION

Hi Neighbors,

Is everyone aware that there is a new classical music radio station?  It's located in Trenton at Mercer Co Community Coll and is about 107 on the FM dial.  What a pleasure not to have to listen to that pompous windbag on Temple's WRTI in the morning with his stultifying Hungarian Rhapsody Dances and other such irritating noise instead of a string quartet.  Ditto for the snotty, do-I-smell-something-bad, on-air vocal delivery of the news lady, named Johnson, whom I had wished was leaving when she graduated.

The DJs seem rather professional as opposed to most college radio stations.  There is even some medieval music.  The selection seems so much broader than the claptrap one has to plow through on Temple's station.  Does anyone remember Armand Something-or-other who used to play old classical recordings from the 20s and 30s (lots of Bireling, I recall) on WHYY when it was a half decent station?  I remember during one beg-a-thon callers for his show were still calling in to donate money and the guy had been dead for about a year.

Oh yeah, if any listeners have missed St. Paul Sunday Morning since WHYY descended into radio hell, that show is on this station now and quite enjoyable.  I had forgotten how much I missed the WHYY of 15 or 20 years ago.
