4800 thru 5100 blocks of Baltimore will be closed to all vehicular traffic.Don't forget the north-south blocks that are closed too. Trying to park to go to the Firehouse Market on Saturday, 50th Street was closed for a block south of Baltimore Avenue, which is usual for this event for loading/unloading, but two blocks south it was marked no parking and a police officer was stationed there to enforce it. That of course meant the third block south was completely parked up. No wonder one of the merchants at the market told me his Saturday business was off 50%. To me supporting the neighborhood includes trying not to hurt businesses that make this a better place to live.
I have never understood why a State Senator, who is not a city official, gets to utilize so many city resources. Cedar Park Neighbors, on the other hand, has been denied permission to even close down Baltimore Avenue for one block for its fair.
