Sharrieff, I think you're getting a little carried away on this. I know (because I am on the board) that Hack never gave any money to, or asked permission of, Cedar Park Neighbors, though it filmed in our area. I think (because I am a member and receive newsletters) that Hack never gave money to Garden Court Community Assn., or Powelton Village Civic Assn. either. Yet Hack filmed in those areas, too. Community associations don't appear to have control over where or when Hack will film. I also know that they don't appear to be very concerned about it, because it has never come up as a topic at University City Community Council meetings where the associations I just mentioned all are members and could bring it up if it bothered them.
I don't know what this means for the points Sharrieff and I have raised. If _Hack_ failed to notify those community associations, then that's the fault of _Hack_. If those community associations didn't contact the producers of the show, or the film production office, then that is their perogative (or failing, or whatever).
The problem we raised is that the production company for _Hack_ _did_ meet with people representing themselves as the community leaders for Spruce Hill... and these people failed to communicate anything about this meeting, or the impending production, to the people whose lives were affected.
Now, if the people who lived in those areas didn't mind the production, that's their business. But as this mailing list demonstrates, there are people in Spruce Hill who have had problems-- and these problems could have been addressed, perhaps even avoided, if the community representatives had made an effort to do right by the community.
I would like to remind everyone that the only reason we _knew_ about any of this is because Sharrieff checked around. And, since none of those 'community representatives' have made any replies on this list to correct Sharrieff's account, I can only presume that either a) Sharrieff has his facts right, and/or b) those same "community representatives" do not care to answer for their decisions.
