TWO YEARS SINCE 9-11, PEACE GROUP TO REMEMBER VICTIMS OF TERROR AND WAR
BEHIND BANNER OF "THE ROAD NOT - YET - TAKEN: PEACE!"

The Brandywine Peace Community, the decades old faith-based peace
activist group, will commemorate the 2nd anniversary of the September
11th terror attacks with a program following the group's monthly potluck
supper, Sunday, September 14, at University Lutheran Church, 3637
Chestnut St., Phila., PA.

The potluck supper will begin at 4:30pm and people are asked to bring a
main, dish, salad, or dessert to share. The commemorative and reflective
program, featuring speakers, music, and poetry will begin at 5:30 pm and
will be followed at 6:45 pm by a procession to the 30th & Market Street
Bridge and a candlelight vigil and dramatic ceremony of remembrance and
peace on the bridge.

The evening event is free and the public is invited. University Lutheran
Church is wheelchair accessible.

Among the evening's speakers will be: Robert McIlvaine, a 58 year old
teacher from Oreland, PA, who lost a son in the attack on the World Trade
Center and is a member of Peaceful Tomorrows, a network of 9-11 victims'
family members who oppose war as a response; Sara Mullen, Director of the
Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union
[ACLU]; and Shane Claiborne, a member of the Simple Way Christian
Community in Phila., who was in Baghdad throughout the U.S.'s bombardment
of Iraq last spring.

Music will be provided by classical violinist, Lynn Mather, and Tom
Mullian, singer-songwriter and member of the Brandywine Peace Community.

The procession from University Lutheran Church to the 30th & Market
Street will be lead by a large banner stating "The Road Not - Yet -
Taken: PEACE". The Candlelight Vigil on the bridge will include a
"ceremony of remembrance and peace" in which participants will cast
ashes, honoring the victims of war and terror, and stones, symbolizing
our belief in war, into the waters below the bridge.
