Hi, I'm writing to ask if anyone has tried to divert their gutter drain from going into the basement/sewer line. The trap in my basement is easily 50 years old and is cracking, thus leaking water into the basement. My choices are to have someone dig through part of the foundation and basement floor to replace this huge iron pipe, or to somehow divert the water into the front yard via extending one of the downspout systems.
If anyone has experience doing the latter, or has an idea about the easiest solution to this problem, I'd love to hear it.
