I would support the following: 1) Setting up a message board on a web page, not my inbox, for any discussions that require more than two or three posts
2) Making this into a moderated list that has links to the discussion board, but that has a process (or committee) to manage the posts. This could at least save us the trouble by consolidating all posts on a single topic into one message. 3) Alternatively, having someone who is considered neutral to become the "posting police" and let people know when that person thinks the post in question is uesless or offensive. And maybe, after repeated abuses, removing people who are way out of bounds. However, this entire process should only exist after a meeting is called with real people and real discussion to set the stage for the virtual follow-up. Unfortunately, my time to help with this is too limited to be meaningful, so maybe I'm preaching to the choir.
