Philadelphia fire officials says a malfunctioning desk fan that was left on City's Lawyer Moved Quickly to Preserve Subpoenaed Records (10/22/03) by KYW's Mike DunnOne day after the FBI raided city offices last week, the Street administration's top lawyer issued an internal memo warning all staffers not to destroy any records.
A day after the raids, Diaz wrote to commissioners and department heads, "As you are aware, the city has been served with a grand jury subpoena by the United States attorney's office." Diaz says all records from January 1st of this year until present must be preserved.
Diaz writes that no record in either hard copy or electronic form should be altered or destroyed without consulting his Legal Department first. |
