Hmmm. Could it be the work of that sinister UCD? The week before the July 4th protest march I witnessed UCD workmen removing posters advertising the protest march from the pole at 48th and Baltimore. I didn't reprimand the old gent  who was doing it because he looked as though he could use the work. But I've since been curious about what guidelines UCD has about removing posters.

The Katz posters on telephone poles on my block were ripped off two days
after someone put them up - and not neatly, so that they would just not be there -
instead, the middle sections were ripped out but the sides were left up, so
that there was a sort of rudeness or violence about it, a signal that there
would be no use in anyone putting up replacements.  This is something I've not
seen in previous campaigns, in our usually more tolerant neighborhood.
