Dear Billy Zardus,
To paraphrase Samuel Johnson, "An ad hominem argument is the last refuge of a scoundrel." Wow, you really must be a bitter, frustrated a*hole. I have seen some nasty cr*p written on this list serve since I signed up, including the trash written by Daniel Aharon and Ross Bender. Your last email takes the cake.
You said, "You must be pretty damn slow if you can't keep track of a toddler and he was able to 'take off running' so fast you weren't able to intervene !!" What does that have to do with anything? I'm not a parent but I know that a responsible parent can let their child wander a little bit. It sounds like the attack happened despite BGAndersen's attempt to intervene, but that he got there to prevent any harm to his child.
You said, "Can you see your toes without bending over ?" and "If you have a 3 YO that can outrun you, then say that!!" I find your comments generally intolerant and offensive.
You twist the facts to make yourself sound better. You said, "To the best of my knowledge, noone on this list has ESP. Your original post said: 'my boy took off running' Does that sound like a toddler to you ????" The original post actually said, "My son was assaulted today by an unleashed dog in Clark Park around 1 PM today ... We were by the Gettysburg Stone. He took off running toward the HMS school when an unleashed dog (by the turtle) bolted after him and knocked him over."
You said, "Let's try and be a little more clear in what we write." BGAndersen's emails were clear and calm. A lot calmer than he probably felt at the time. I think that your nasty, personal attacks have completely negated any reasonable points you may have wanted to make.
The one valid argument you made was if you, "have to call the police with a serious problem [you] don't want [your]call being qued [sic] into the same list being overburdened ... They should have a seperate [sic] que [sic] ... besides 911." Of course you lessen your argument by saying things like "handful of dopes," "extra time on their hands" and "chronic complainers."
Who died and made you king?
Sincerely,
Frank Winkler
P.S. I agree with the removal of the dogs from the park, so I may not be too objective about this. I can't make the FOCP meeting, but if you truly believe, "Philadelphia is spending 100% of their recreation budget on the needs of people with children and everyone else can go to hell." The maybe you should make your viewpoint heard next month at their meeting.

They should have a seperate que for chronic complainers.
By that I mean they should have a third category
besides 911 and everything else.
To the best of my knowledge, noone on this list has ESP.

WRZ-
I had a good laugh when I read that last message. To me, I was taking a
serious issue and trying to be reasonable about it. Well, the Merriam -
