Looks like Hack works closely with some organizations . . . FROM: Garry L. Scheib Senior Vice President of Hospital Operations, UPHS
Executive Director, HUP DATE: January 8, 2004 SUBJECT: Simulated Gunfire & Explosives We have learned from the producers of "HACK," the CBS-TV hit series that is filmed in Philadelphia, that an upcoming episode of the show -- to involve simulated gunfire and explosives -- will be filmed adjacent to the main entrances of HUP and Penn Tower during the early-evening hours of Friday, January 9, 2004. The show's producers are scheduled to begin filming a "flashback" scene (featuring a character who has fought in the Iraqi War and has problems re-adjusting when he returns home) at dusk on the grounds of the Civic Center site -- specifically, in the alley between the abandoned Museum Building and Convention Hall. The filming is scheduled to run from 5:00 to 8:00 PM tomorrow; with intermittent production-related noises to occur between 8:00 and 10:00 PM that same evening. Representatives from the Dean's Office and President's Office worked extensively with the HACK producers to ensure that every effort will be made to minimize the amount of noise and special-effects that emanate from the film-production site -- including the use of multiple sound barriers. However, it is possible that some residual modified noise may still be heard from within our facilities; and it is expected that passersby may be able to see flashing white lights and/or puffs of smoke from the special-effects explosives. To ensure the personal safety of all individuals within the vicinity of the production site, the University Police and HUP Security will be working closely with the producers before, during, and immediately after the filming. To further ensure the safety and peace-of-mind of all patients and guests, I urge you to share this information immediately with all faculty and staff so that they may provide advance notification to our patients and guests about the circumstances surrounding the noise and lights that will take place during tomorrow evening's filming sequences. ================ Thanks, John Ellingsworth http://ellingsworth.org/john/ AIM: jellings28 ---- You are receiving this because you are subscribed to the list named "UnivCity."
