I haven't tried them myself but since they are becoming so rare every one is worth noting - there is a shoe repair on 40th below Chestnut. I used them a bit. They did a good job, and seemed like a good old fashioned neighborhood shoe shine/repair place. The problem is that I got too friendly with Cliff, and he started ringing my doorbell at 2am to try to bum money off me. (I mentioned that I had to get my porch roof jacked up before I could get my trees cut down, and he figured out which house was mine.) I'd recommend them, as long as you don't let him know where you live. I didn't use them for repairs, but I'd bet they'd do a good job. --- Chip ---- You are receiving this because you are subscribed to the list named "UnivCity."
