Dear Mr. Zardus,

Against all advise not to answer your post because it's not polite to mock
the afflicted, I have decided in the spirit of "noblesse oblige" to consider
what you have said and respond.

Dogs are great animals. I have raised and loved three of them. I happen to
be very fond of them and so far have not been attacked by off-lead dogs or
strays.

Dogs should be on a leash when away from their home. It's better for them
since dogs have a tendency to sometimes commit what I call "impulse-traffic
suicide", it's better for people since no one knows exactly what will flip a
switch in a dog and cause them to attack, and last but certainly not least
it's the law.

As to your post regarding your "question" about black men, it certainly was
an analogy. According to Webster's Dictionary:

"2 a : resemblance in some particulars between things otherwise unlike :"

My point was there was no resemblance between persons violating a leash law
and irrational racist fears towards black men by white women. It was
offensive to say the least, and invoking the racial issue to equally compare
to animals is to take the refuge of a scoundrel.

You can argue what you will; just try to use something similar such as
animal-to-animal comparison in future "questions."

Thanks for your time.

Sincerely,

Wilma de Soto
