I agree with Gail; go with termites and pest inspection. I used Melvin Esh
(215-844-2885) and found him helpful, knowledgeable about UC houses and understanding
of budget limitations. Also, I helped start a citywide home improvement loan program
that selected the following firms based on price and positive feedback from previous
customers:
Quaker City Inspectors, Inc.: 702 Manchester Drive, Maple
Glen, PA 19002-2863. Telephone: 215-643-8753; FAX: 215-643-8754; E-mail: [EMAIL

US Inspect, Inc., 3650 Concorde Parkway, Suite 100, Chantilly,
VA 20151-1129. Telephone: 1-888-US INSPECT (874-6773); fax: 800-972-4182. E-mail:

Value Home Inspections, Inc.: 115 E. Glenside Avenue,
Glenside, PA 19038; Telephone: 215-886-0010; FAX: 215-886-0011. E-mail: [EMAIL

He's thorough, professional, and very patient when explaining things. I
would never buy a house without getting a termite inspection, but the
other two aren't so vital, in my opinion.
