Neighborhood Bike Works is currently looking for a new Camp Instructor.
This is a summer position with full-time hours, 8:00-4:30, Monday through Friday (due to the unpredictable nature of working with youth, it is important that applicants be willing to occasionally work over-time).
The summer camp runs from July 6th -- August 27th. The job begins on June 21st.
Summer camp instructors will: -Teach bike repair classes. -Teach bike safety classes. -Lead other activities. -Lead and manage rides. -Supervise meals. -Handle paperwork. -Manage volunteers and youth staff.
Instructors may also have to: -Manage groups of youth without the aide of the camp director. -Communicate with parents. -Resolve conflicts between students.
Applicant Qualities Include: -Having the ability to handle high intensity situations calmly. -Sense of humor. -Being a competent bicycle mechanic. -Must own and maintain bicycle -The ability to ride at least twelve miles. Youth work and bicycle mechanic experience are desired.
