I have a question in which I'd value the collective sophistication and taste of my community. Who, in your opinion, is (or are) the top (or most interesting) musical act based in the Philadelphia area? Who would you brag about or show off to an out-of-town foreign music lover?
They could be working in any genre -- rock, pop, classical, jazz, anything. They could be world famous, or totally obscure but deserving of a cult following by those in the know.
The only conditions are that they have to have an active career NOW. So Eugene Ormandy and John Coltrane and the Hooters and the Dead Milkmen are out of the running. Also, they should have a CD available.
tony, could you maybe tell us why you were asking this question? (it would help me think of good picks.) thanks.
