Wow!
Having never been in a wartime combat situation, it is difficult for me to judge what I would do in such a situation. However, I feel that the US should always take the high road and not participate in these “hi-jinks”.
With regard to the US’ position worldwide, it is appalling that this has been allowed to happen. Yet there is something else there.
I have read that the Sargeant from PA and another of the Officers involved in this both worked in the Prison System at home. Perhaps this is indicative of the kind of practices that go on in the Penal System here in the US.
When I read about one detainee being sodomized with a broomstick or lamp it reminded me of Abner Louima, the Haitian immigrant who was brutally sodomized by a toilet plunger be police in NY.
These practices may be more indicative of this country than we care to acknowledge. If so, there is a lot more that would need examining.
