I am writing you on behalf of the Faithful Citizenship Project, an interfaith non-partisan voter registration drive sponsored by the National Interfaith Committee for Worker Justice. Our goal is to do voter registration in the religious community for the upcoming Nov. 2 election. We want to make sure that the voices of people of faith are heard in this year's election.
We are offering internship programs for students through our Faithful Citizenship Summer program. It is a 10 week paid internship program where interns will work in one of our six sites (Chicago, Syracuse/Elmira NY, Oklahoma City/Tulsa, Twin Cities, Portland OR, and Kansas City) to register people of faith.
Please consider passing the attached flyer on to interested students, especially those that will be living in those areas and are looking to put their faith in the dignity for each person into action. Also, feel free to check out our website by visiting http://www.nicwj.org/ and clicking on Faithful Citizenship Project. There is more information on there about the internship, the project, as well as a bulletin insert that we created about voter registration from the ELCA tradition.
Please let me know if you have any questions, and also please let me know if you have any suggestions for how to get the word out about this.
peace, Mike
