MOTHERS DAY PEACE PROGRAM TO FEATURE AREA WOMEN ART WORK
Sunday, May 9, Mother's Day - The Brandywine Peace Community will hold a special Mother's Day program entitled A Cry of Women for Peaceat the group's monthly potluck supper and program, University Lutheran Church, 3637 Chestnut St., Philadelphia, PA.. The potluck supper and program will begin at 4:30PM.
Lou Ann Merkle and women artists from the womens art group, Peace by Piece, will present slides and share stories behind their recent anti-war exhibit, Collateral Damage: Echoes in the Soul. The program will also include videos, sculpture, photography, collage and printmaking.
Those attending the potluck supper are asked to bring a main dish, salad, or dessert to share.

June 13 - "The Bush Debacle: Where the Bush Administration Taking Us in World Affairs" - Craig Eisendrath, senior fellow at the Center for International Policy and a former U.S. foreign service officer. Author of numerous books and a play, he is the co-author of the just released book "Bush League Diplomacy: How the Neo- Conservatives Are Putting the World at Risk"
July 11 - "Nuclear Legacy: Hiroshima & Why We Remember", Yoko Nishimura, who was born in Hiroshima, Japan. Yoko's mother was a "Hibakusha", a survivior of the Hiroshima bombing. A graduate student at SUNY Buffalo, Yoko is doing research at the Swarthmore College Peace Collection on women and peace.Program will include displays.
July 16 (Anniversary of "Trinity", the first atomic test) and August 6 - 9 (Anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki) Nuclear Age Anniversary Commemorative Protests and Nonviolent Direct at Lockheed Martin, Moorestown, NJ and Valley Forge, PA. Details to follow.
