OK, it's here--the biggest bicycling weekend in Philadelphia's year. Give us a call or e-mail if you are interested in any of these things:
In addition the art show, which has its own e-mail, this is what we are doing:
Saturday:
1)
Ride to the Art Museum with a group of youths and Andrew Satinsky. There is a youth bike race there, registration at 9:00. To volunteer, be at NBW (39th St) at 8:00AM. This is a rain or shine ride. It rained last year and we still had a blast. Andy will have the (215) 875-6695 phone at this event. We'll be heading back about 1:00, maybe earlier.
OR...
Meet us at the youth race at the Art Museum after 9:00. We will need people to help get youth ready to race, and help set up tent etc.
2) Bike Safety Checks in Manayunk. Meet us at Pretzel park at 9:00AM Andy Dyson and Andrew Crane Droesh will be there working on bikes with some youth in our leadership group. There is a youth bike race hosted by Northlights Community Center. We will be done ~12:30.
3) Bike Safety Check at Leidy Elementary School, Belmont Ave just north of Girard. Meet at NBW at 11:00 to ride over there, or meet us there at Noon. Event is Noon-4:00. All welcome. Bring your bike to get checked, or come and volunteer to help us out. Anna Shipp is your team leader for this event.
Sunday:
We really need volunteers for this one:
Bike parking at the Wachovia USPRO race--7:00-4:30
Tabling at the race expo--8:00-4:00. have fun meeting the bicycling public and promoting our programs.
Thanks to anyone who can help. If you can't volunteer, stop by the art show anyway and say hi on Saturday (previous e-mail), use the bike parking service at Spring Garden and the Parkway on Sunday, or visit our booth (#82) in the Expo area at the race on Sunday.
Thanks to you all for your support of NBW. This weekend is going to get the summer off to a great start for us.
