....is this item regarding architectural eyesores, and the proposal to designate them X-- as in, "we wanna tear this fugly pile'o'stucco down." Perhaps not as "contrary" as it seems. All of his examples of buildings that should be destroyed are post-war style. "Mr. Ferguson's point is that quality of life is also affected by the aesthetics of one's surroundings: visual harmony can be comforting; a modern block in a medieval or even Victorian neighborhood can be jarring." It seems to be taking "Historical Preservation" one step further.
