I sat in the back with the half-dozen old people. The warmup speaker was Melissa Fitzgerald, who plays Carol (?) on the West Wing. She was born in HUP, and she is a Penn alumna, as were her parents. She got a rousing welcome.
May have been some low income gays and lesbians in the crowd, but it was hard to spot 'em. There was one co-ed wearing a button with a pink triangle that said "I'm straight but I'm not narrow." Whatever the hell that means.
There must have been 200 or more people there, in the lobby of the Annenberg Center, hootin and hollerin to beat the band. It was quite apparent that they didn't like Bush at all, not even one little bit. Can't say I blame them. You can probably see the event on the late TV news.
