Friends (and enemies I guess),

I have a writer friend -- in another city I hasten to add -- who has been commissioned to write a piece about universities transforming their neighborhoods. She has heard the enthusiastic explanations of such from Penn officials but -- being a pretty smart person -- suspects there are other sides to the story and has asked me what local folks think. I don't live in West Philadelphia, although I spend a great deal of time here -- so am not fully in touch with the ire of the arguments.
Besides, she's already heard many of my opinions about my employer.

I thereby with full trepidation invite you to send me your diatribes for forwarding on. I assure you that no one gets quoted without permission.

Cheryl
