   If the hate and animosity are coming from Blue America, consider
   that people unhappy with the status-quo are often passionate and
   emotional, whereas I have lately found the Bush supporters around
   me to be rather more blas� about things.  I really hope that the
   Slate article wasn't proposing the idea that most democrats are
   JERKS.  That wouldn't be civil.

I agree that "winners" tend to be complacent, while people who feel
that their values and way of life are threatened are often pissed off.
I think the sample size of the experiment was way too small.  They
should have thrown in a fundy Christian community to balance San
Francisco.  (Does that make SF a fundamentalist secular community?)
