christy and i got to the polls at 7:00 this morning and waited in line an hour. I've never waited in line. Ever. When we left, the line was just as long as when we'd arrived.

my polling place worked just fine, as always -- you step inside, do a bit of chitchat, sign something, vote, and boom you're done. so homey and cozy, there in the dim basement of a corner house, all low ceilings and everybody squeezed in, the dogs waiting outside. the voting booths glow like something at a carnival, and over to the side there's coffeecake, kraft singles, napkins, paper cups, and non-dairy creamer. oh and a box that says NATIVITY SET up on one of the shelves. nice place, good people. I love voting.
