Franklin County's unofficial results gave Bush 4,258 votes to Democratic challenger John Kerry's 260 votes in Precinct 1B. Records show only 638 voters cast ballots in that precinct."

"In poor blacks parts of Houston half of the machines would not work and those that did checked Bush off when you checked all democrat on the ballot. Luckily someone noticed and reported it but that was late in the day after many votes had already been cast."
