wow. i'm heartened by all the crimefighters on the list. anticdotally it seems that since the police arrested the guy breaking into my friend heather's house that string of robberies (throw a brick through the window) ended. and now this string of 8 similar robberies possibly perpetrated by the same person -- i'd always thought most crimes were comitted by different people, but it seems that we often have 1 person crime-waves going on for days or weeks and catching that one person can save a lot of your neighbors a lot of trouble.
good job.

Subject: [UC] Break in on 4800 Florence
Dear Neighbors,
A house that was vacant and being renovated was broken into on the 4800
block of Florence on Wednesday, Nov. 3 around 9:30 pm. We heard the
noise and went out to investigate. The man was entering a first floor
bay window by standing on a trashcan. My husband got a good look at the
man coming out of the house. The alarm in the house may have scared him
back out. We called the police who came very quickly. We searched the
area and the person was caught about a block away and positively
identified by my husband. He was taken into custody. Both the owner
and my husband went to 55th and Pine to make statements. The police
believe he may be responsible for about 8 other similar break-ins in the
neighborhood.
If you are working on a house or have properties being renovated around
you please stay aware of who is coming and going.
