Less than 20 minutes ago, I walked out of my house on the 4700 block of Hazel and a group of people had gathered because a woman a few houses down from me had just walked out of her front door, and had her purse grabbed. The theif ran away; a witness chased but wasn't able to catch him.
Someone called 911 shortly before I arrived and the police came within minutes, and several neighbors stayed with the woman to calm her down and help her figure out what to do next, as she was very upset. I was heartened to see so many neighbors helping a person in need, but I'm really starting to feel scared about what seems to be an increase in the crime rate around here. Maybe it's just that we're more aware of it? I really hope so. Be careful-- Sarah ---- You are receiving this because you are subscribed to the list named "UnivCity."
